MythbunkersEver wondered who started the rumour that Jamie Lee Curtis was a hermaphrodite, or the notion that a swan could break a man’s arm? It’s all the work of the MythMasons, an ancient order of people who have lived through the ages, passing the secrets down to their children, their children’s children, and generally anyone within earshot (They’re not one of those picky orders, like Mensa or the EDL).And their trade is myths - taking debunked myths and ‘rebunking’ them. But most importantly, their job is to ‘bunk’ new myths, that is, create brand new crazy theories and apocryphal stories. This can happen in all sorts of ways. It can be as simple as saying loudly in a crowd “I’ve heard that apparently Wolf from Gladiators was actually really nice”, to myths that take years of preparation, like Lucozade. But why do they do this? To throw confusion and a bit of fun into a world obsessed with truth, media accuracy and medical safety. The MythMasons exist to show those so-called ‘qualified’ professionals with degrees ‘not from the internet’ that life is not always about facts. After their public fall from medical grace, John and Glen became part of that ancient order, and they’re here today to offer you a chance to become a MythMason just like them. www.twitter.com/mythbunkers
